Audience measurement & privacy
When enabled, our own server estimates visits to public podcast pages, podcast feed/media requests, download-button requests, and listening coverage reported by our public web players. Creators see aggregate activity for their own shows, not your identity.
No third-party analytics or tracking cookies
IP address and browser/app user-agent information are processed transiently to create keyed, period-specific pseudonymous hashes for duplicate detection. The analytics database does not retain raw IP addresses, raw user agents, referrers, full URLs, query strings, account cookies, or listening text. Identifiers are different for daily, weekly and monthly counts. Browser measurement uses no cookies or local storage, and no analytics data is sent to third parties.
We store the date, public show/episode identifier, site, broad app category, approximate country when a trusted local lookup is available, and reported played coverage. Country is estimated offline using DB-IP Lite (CC BY 4.0); visitor IPs are not sent to DB-IP. Country is Unknown when the local lookup is unavailable. Historical Unknown measurements are not backfilled. Shared networks, app proxies and caches can make estimates imperfect. A request does not prove that you listened or finished a download.
Your controls
We skip analytics when your browser sends Do Not Track (DNT: 1) or Global Privacy Control (Sec-GPC: 1). Our web-player script also honors the corresponding browser settings. These controls do not prevent audio playback. Other podcast apps may not send these signals.
Retention
Analytics detail has a 35-day retention target. A bounded hourly cleanup runs while collection is active; operators must also clean retained data when collection is disabled and apply the same retention to protected backups. Existing security/access logs are separate and may contain network addresses under the server's logging policy.
Only the currently authorized show owner can view its aggregate report. Public players report played intervals, excluding seek gaps; listening in external apps or offline is not measured for completion.
